Seeds to help us grow

As we mentioned in our last blogpost we took part in the game jam Ludum Dare last weekend, 72 intensive hours of banging out a game prototype from scratch. The theme was suggested and selected by the community and this time it was a tie, “Growth” and “Two button controls”. We decided to attempt both and the result is our game Seeds which you can try out below. We didn’t have time to do a proper tutorial section so we encourage you to read the instructions in green text when you start the first level, before clicking your mouse :) There are two levels to play through, with a little surprise at the end. Play the game in your browser!

We find the basic mechanics of the prototype promising, though unpolished (wouldn’t it be nice to be able to change your mind when using the seed catapults?) Polishing and developing the idea further is enticing so let us know what you liked or didn’t on twitter or facebook to help us deliver a great experience when we do. You can play a downloadable version for Windows, OSX or Linux as well, links and more on the Ludum Dare page for Seeds.

With the upcoming holidays we are taking a break to get rednosed from glögg (spiced wine) and salty from brännvinskryddad löksill (spiced vodka-infused pickled herring). We will be back in full force to a new year that will consist largely of making and releasing games.

Until then, God Jul och Gott nytt år.
